Moyenne Corniche

page under construction
The Moyenne Corniche is the Riviera as immortalized in Hollywood films, such as ‘To Catch a Thief’ (1955) by A. Hitchcock with Cary Grant & Grace Kelly who unfortunately lost her life on that road.

Eze is an amazing little village hanging above the sea with old stone houses and an amazing exotic garden because of the cacti but also the view. One day in July, the inhabitants dress up as in medieval times and a lot of old time scenes are recreated.

In La Turbie you will discover the huge 'Alp Trophy' built to honour the Roman emperor August victory over Ligures (cf www.rivieraapt-history.blogspot.com) and a breathtaking view on Monaco.

In Roquebrune the Chateau is a real eagle nest. The village has an olive tree which is more than 1000 years old.

Menton is a pretty town on the Italian border. It is famous at the Mardi-Gras period when it is all decorated with lemons and oranges. You can have a look at St Michel baroque church and the former medieval castle’s cemetery where are buried famous Russian Princes and Roosevelt relatives.
